In order to maintain hygiene in the home and so that the place of residence remains as much as possible a healthy place that is protected and pleasant to live in, whether in the presence of an ill person or not, certain hygiene rules should be followed.

Cleaning and maintaining the home _In a flu pandemic situation, housework can be done with the usual products: liquid soaps, scouring powder, disinfectant products used according to the guidelines, etc. Pay special attention to surfaces likely to be contaminated by the ill person (sinks, work surfaces, tables, armrests, etc.), as well as objects and surfaces frequently touched by the family members (sinks, taps, switches, remote controls, telephone, computer keyboard, etc.).

Regularly wash the ill person’s clothes, sheets, napkins and towels in a washing machine or in very hot water and soap. Also wash dishes in a dishwasher or with washing-up liquid

Processing household rubbish _All of the waste created by an ill person (masks, handkerchiefs, paper napkins, etc.) are contagious and must be placed in a bin bag. The bag must then be hermetically sealed, without trapping air. It is recommended to double the bag in case it tears. After placing the bag in the dustbin, wash your hands thoroughly.
