PAM: Ok, so now that I know how to catch the flu, how do I avoid catching it!

BOB: Pam, there are just a few really simple rules to follow. First, you have to avoid touching people, even family members and friends. Stay at least 2 metres away from people.

PAM: Well, that’s OK, at least I won’t have to kiss Mrs. Michon hello any longer. She’s hairy!

BOB: Secondly, you need to wash your hands as often as possible. When you get home, before eating, after you touch the bin, when you leave the bathroom, when you sneeze, or when you blow your nose or cough, after standing close to a sick person, and in general every time your hands are dirty.

PAM: That’s a lot of hand washing!

BOB: That’s not all! There is also a very specific way of washing your hands so that you can get rid of the virus. Here’s how to do it:
- Wet your hands with water.
- Soap your hands, if possible with liquid soap.
- Scrub your hands for 30 seconds. Don’t forget the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
- Rinse your hands under running water, so that the virus washes away.
- Dry your hands with a clean towel or in the air.
- And finally, turn off the tap with a towel or a paper so that you don’t touch the virus you just got rid of.

PAM: Otherwise you have to start all over again!

BOB: It sounds complicated, but we’ll do it together once, so you can see how easy it is.

PAM: And what happens when there is no sink, for example, when I’m not at home?

BOB: Ask your Mum to give you a cleanser. You can just keep it with you in your pocket all the time!

Now, let’s see whether you remember the main prevention rules that protect you from catching the flu:
- Avoid contact and wash your hands carefully?
- Avoid doing homework and taking baths?
- Scrub your hands for an hour under the tap?

That’s not the right answer. Try again!

Well done! Now let’s find out whether you’ve caught the flu, despite all the measures taken to protect yourself. Click on Button #4.
